What to Prepare Before Requesting an OEM Makeup Brush Quote
The five details that determine whether a quotation is useful, and how to avoid a round of avoidable questions.
Working on a brush project?
YELVINA manufactures makeup brushes, sets, bags, sponges and powder puffs for OEM, ODM and private-label buyers.
Request a QuoteView ProductsThe difference between a quotation that is useful and one that takes a week of email follow-up usually comes down to five details. Supplying them up front is the fastest way to a real number.
1. Product
Name the actual product, not the category. “Face brushes” leaves the specification open; “12-piece set with a powder brush, foundation brush, blush, contour, shader, blending, angled brow and lip brush, supplied with a pouch” lets a manufacturer quote a defined configuration.
2. Quantity
Give an estimated quantity with a unit. Pieces and sets are not interchangeable in costing, so “3,000” is ambiguous. If you are still testing the market, say so — a phased quantity often produces a more realistic plan than a single optimistic figure.
3. Logo requirements
State whether you need silk printing, hot stamping or laser engraving, and say which of those you are open to. Logo method affects both cost and minimum quantity, so it belongs in the first message rather than the second. If you can supply artwork, send it with the enquiry.
4. Packaging requirements
Packaging is often the largest single variable after the product itself. Specify whether you need individual boxes, a brush pouch, a brush bag, a gift box or set packaging. If you do not yet know, say so — quoting with and without custom packaging makes the trade-off visible.
5. Destination country
Your destination affects freight, Incoterm options and documentation, and it determines whether a quoted price is comparable with a landed cost. Providing it upfront avoids a second round of questions.
- Product and piece count or component list.
- Estimated quantity with units.
- Logo method, plus artwork if available.
- Packaging format.
- Destination country and preferred Incoterm if you have one.
MOQ varies depending on product, logo method, packaging and customization requirements. A project-specific quotation is the only way to get a real number.
One last point: mention whether you want samples before bulk customization. If you are launching a new range, sampling should be part of the plan from the start rather than something to arrange after a quotation has already been accepted.
